I always like to post a special greeting for our troops, especially those deployed at Christmas time. I enjoy sending out a special acknowledgement knowing they are working hard and won’t be able to be home to enjoy the holiday with their families. I want them to know that even while we are celebrating here with loved ones, we include them in our thoughts and good wishes for the day.
This year I stumbled upon a highly rated app that provides lovely frames for photos and I thought it would be fun to use one or two for my post. The app has frames for a wide variety of themes so I typed in “Merry Christmas to our troops” and “military Christmas.” To my surprise and great delight many possible photo frames popped up but the following couple caught my attention.
Geez, I thought, now I know why this app is so highly rated. The women must love this! I spent the next couple of hours trying to make the thing work. I finally gave up in complete frustration. No matter how many times I clicked the damn thing I never got a Marine or sexy Soldier to pop up, not even after I uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. I can’t for the life of me figure out why this awful app had a 5-star rating. It makes beautiful promises but certainly doesn’t deliver!
After coming to terms with the fact that I wasn’t going to be able to use the app to get a Marine or sexy Soldier to appear, I continued my search for something to use in my post. I found a face frame in the app that had been used quite a bit. I figured it was popular so the guys must like it. I went ahead and gave it a try. This was the result.
Hmmmm. I appear to have gotten some sort of sunburn out there in the desert, but just on my face. Guess I should have worn a hat but you have to give me props for making it through the sand wearing bedroom heels. That takes skill, you know!
I finally gave up on the app for good. It didn’t give me a Marine. It didn’t give me a sexy Soldier but it did manage to give me sunburn. It clearly didn’t work properly so I decided to just stick with my regular, non-fancy, unframed photos.
Sending you warm wishes across the miles.
Merry Christmas!
